Aim

You learn to build on the skills of how to plan, structure and conduct an effective ISO 4500 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&SMS) audit and to evaluate and communicate the findings.

The course is designed to follow the stages in a live audit, including simulated audit interviews and role play closing meetings.

This course adheres to ISO 19011, the management system auditing guideline.

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Plan, conduct, report and follow-up an audit of an occupational health and safety management system to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO 45001, and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 where appropriate.

Certification

A two-hour written test is included in this course.

Full attendance, as well as passing the examination and practical assessment, are required for certification.

Participants must demonstrate that they have met the learning and enabling objectives using the PERAC’s methods of continual assessment and evaluation.
